Modernités sud-américaines

Modernités sud-américaines is a publication for Musee Albert-Kahn published by sun/sun editions mapping a voyage towards the very early photography in the south America’s. Notably there are the first colour photographies of Brazil.

The two cahiers are complementary: the large one is figuring the voyage with pure photographic material and the second smaller booklet is mapping the theoretical research around the images with texts. The colours we used (blue, green and red) are a reference towards the three-color method that where used in those early colour photography. Lines are connecting and speculating between the known and the unknown of this European expedition in the south America’s.
