ΑΓΟΡΑΦΟΒΙΚΟ 23

ΑΓΟΡΑΦΟΒΙΚΟ is a music festival hosting Greek bands. The Visual Identity we designed for the event is a clear continuation of the term “Agoraphobia”.

The term agoraphobia was coined in 1871 by the pioneering German psychologist Karl Friedrich Otto Westphal (1833–1890), in his article “Die Agoraphobie, eine neuropathische Erscheinung.” It is derived from Greek αγορά (agora), meaning ‘place of assembly’ or ‘market-place’ and -φοβία (-phobía), meaning ‘fear’.

The typographic density systems we developed for the festival are not leaving much space for doubt. We inspired ourselves on a cognitive behavioural therapy method called “exposure treatment” that “in vivo” gradually exposes patients to the feared situations or objects.
